Born: Liverpool, UK, 1955
Studied at Rotterdam Academie voor beeldende kunst and Sheffield City Polytechnic.
I grew up in a mining village and started my working life as a miner, before going to art college. I have always been interested in drama and dance but I had no talent for either but I found I could make sculpture before becoming a printer, etching mainly. From there I became interested in photography and video work. This allowed me to indulge in my original passions centred around modern dancers, models and poetry. I am more interested in a punk aesthetic, improvisation and chance than making highly finished work and like to keep my work raw and low tech.
